Mt Cook - South Island
The Aoraki Mt Cook National Park is home to New Zealand’s highest mountain at 3,724 metres. But that’s just the icing on the cake in this beautiful location with heaps of walks through glacial valleys and many vantage points. One of the most popular tracks is the Hooker Valley track, which takes you over swing bridges and past various alpine views until you are faced with the Hooker Glacier. If you want to get closer to these magnificent glaciers, try a glacier kayaking tour. Paddle on a glacial lake with close encounters with impressive icebergs.
